Notes from Dr. Siegel: This ethnic rhinoplasty case highlights how each nose is unique. While she is African American, her nose anatomy has many features of a Caucasian nose: a high bridge, and strong tip cartilages. This patient was mostly concerned with the refinement of her front view and achieving a slimmer-looking nose from top to bottom. No cartilage was added. Her front view was narrowed by slimming the bones, narrowing the tip, and performing an alar base reduction to decrease the overall width of the nasal base. The tip was rotated to remove the droopy appearance.
