The Vertical Mini Face Lift is a remarkable procedure designed by Dr. Siegel for busy professionals who want to turn back the clock with visible, long lasting results – and without major surgery or a prolonged recovery period. What Does the Vertical Face Lift Do?
The Vertical Face Lift is designed to reverse the toll that gravity and stress have taken on your face over the years. As we age, facial tissues lose support and elasticity, jowls begin to form, folds around the mouth deepen and the neck looses its contour. Although genetics play an important role on how quickly these changes take place, we all are affected by them to varying degrees. The Vertical Face Lift is designed to reverse the effects of aging by “repositioning” your facial structures to where they were ten to twenty years ago, giving you back your natural, more youthful facial contours. Because the Vertical Face Lift is not a full face lift, it results in a “younger you” rather than a “different you” – and without the “pulled” look sometimes associated with a full face lift.

How does the Vertical Face Lift Differ from Similar Procedures?
You may have heard about other mini face lift procedures which promise the results of a full face lift without the recovery time, but many of these procedures fall far short of patients’ expectations. For example, skin and collagen tightening procedures have recently become popular. However, these procedures can be painful, the results may not appear for several months, and many patients require re-treatment because no visible changes were achieved. Other procedures using “wires” have also fallen short in delivering face lift results.
Dr. Siegel created the Vertical Lift to provide an alternative surgical option for busy professionals who cannot afford to take weeks to recover, and yet want real, visible results.
What Does the Mini Lift Procedure Entail?
You will first meet with Dr. Siegel for an initial consultation. He will review your medical history and determine whether you are a good candidate for surgery, or whether another procedure would better address your areas of concern.
If you are a good candidate for the Vertical Lift, a procedure date will be scheduled and you will be given pre-operative instructions. The surgery is performed in our facility and takes about 45 minutes. The procedure is performed under a local anesthetic, similar to what you may have experienced at your dentist’s office. After the procedure you will need to wear a light bandage for 24 to 48 hours but may resume normal activity, except for heavy lifting or stressful motions. (A more detailed list of post-operative instructions will be provided.) The stitches used during the procedure are almost imperceptible and, because they are self-absorbing, they do not need to be removed.
How Much Bruising and Swelling Will I Have?
The Vertical Lift is a minor surgical procedure and, as such, some swelling and bruising may be present. Different patients exhibit different degrees of swelling and bruising. Dr. Siegel will give you a list of medications to avoid prior to surgery to prevent major bruising and will recommend that you apply ice to your face after surgery to prevent as much swelling as possible. If you follow the post-operative instructions provided, you should be able to resume your daily routine within in 48 to 72 hours after the procedure.
Is the Vertical Face Lift Safe?
The Vertical Face Lift is a very safe procedure. By only using local anesthetic to numb specific areas of the face, the risks associated with intravenous sedation and general anesthetic are eliminated.
What Other Procedures Can be Done with the Vertical Lift?
Many patients decide to further improve on their appearance by combining their Vertical Face Lift with eye-lifting surgery and/or with a chemical peel. All these procedures can be performed under local anesthetic and will not significantly prolong your recovery time.
