How Does the Light Sheer Duet Remove Hair?

The unique Vacuum-Assist-Technology allows for painless hair removal by gently drawing the skin area to the handpiece, stretching the dermis thin and pulling the hair follicle closer to the source, while a highly controlled flash of laser light is selectively absorbed by hair-filled follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair follicle, eliminating potential re-growth of the hair without damaging the surrounding tissue.

The ChillTip continuous contact cooling utilizes a cold beam of air that is delivered to the treated area for added comfort by preventing the skin from getting too hot.

Any hair with at least some pigment (black, brown, red and some blond) can be treated effectively. This procedure, unlike other laser systems, allows the hair removal/reduction of dark-skinned individuals.

How Many Laser Treatments Will You Need?

The number of laser hair removal treatments required varies with hair density, hair color, skin types and treatment area. At the time of your LightSheer DUET treatment, the only hair follicles that will be impaired are those in their growth cycle. All hair follicles are not active at the same time. Depending upon the cycle of the follicles at the time of your treatment, several treatments may be required to obtain the desired effect.

Laser Hair Removal: Side Effects

Side effects from LightSheer DUET laser hair removal procedure are rare. You may experience some slight reddening or local swelling at the treatment site, but this typically goes away within hours. On very rare occasions, some blistering or bruising may occur, but typically resolves quickly. Also, the skin can become darker or lighter following treatment but will generally return to normal within a few weeks. Limiting sun exposure is mandatory before and after each treatment to minimize the risk of complications.
